Where It All Began

My very first paid signwriting job back in 1989 — the beginning of a lifelong passion for hand-painted lettering.

It all started with a humble vehicle commission. I was more nervous than the customer as I carefully painted the lettering by hand, hoping it wouldn’t wobble or run! That first job sparked a love for traditional signwriting that has stayed with me ever since.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of creating hand-painted signs for shops, cafés, and businesses across the North East of England — and even further afield, with commissions in Germany, France, and Belize. Each project is a chance to combine craftsmanship, creativity, and a touch of personality, no matter where in the world it takes me.
